Library idiosyncrasies

LIBRARY IDIOSYNCRACIES

The noisy fans
Breath cool breeze
Into our spines
As we glue our eyes
To the books,lieing restlessly
On the desks of our cubicles
Some stare contemptuously

At the books

Like a sour soup
Or a stinking jam
Some close their eyes
In a lenthy repose
Not being able to resist
The relishing breeze,spurting
From the unceasing parambulations
Of the diligent fans

Some gaze at one another
Deaf to the clarion call of the books
Some prowl up and down
North,east,west and south
Around the bookshelves
Like angry protesters
Chased by the beasty khaki boys
Of the new junta

Some dip their eyeballs
Into the boring pages of the books
Their countenances conote
Their apparent inability
To comprehend a single letter
Among the myriads of words
In the books

Some mumble; reading aloud
Like kids in a pre-nursery class
Some, after wracking their brains
For lenthy minutes
Smile to themselves
After comprehending
The riddle in their books
