As a parent or a would-be parent (father/mother, or guardian) , you have some important roles to play in the life of your children, one of the roles is the task of "inculcating moral values in them, that is" Discipline them".  The poem below emphasizes the significance of discipline. Read and enjoy........

"Discipline" by Yahaya Habeeb Kayode

I am the poet from the planet Of words
I am the writer who writes about our worlds
I've come again with the craft of my hand
With words precious like the golden sand

I've weaved this poem for dads and moms
For your future stars are your daughter and sons
In them,  good morals you should inculcate
While their hearts are soft, dont make it late!

The darkness in them you should always drain
And from their white robes you should wipe-off stains
For if you dont, you might get hurt
By their immoral deeds you might as well get stung

At their tender age, make them a sage!
Free them earlier from  corruption's cage
With the tonic of discipline, inject their souls!
On the path of virtue, establish their soles!

An untrained child is the devil's tool
An ill-mannered one is just like a bull
No virtuous deeds would be displayed by him
For gangs of gory goons would be his team

A gloomy ambition such child would have
For money rituals he could abduct dwarfs
His parents'souls would worth a shilling
Killing to him,  would be like a game, thrilling

At their tender age, do have them trained
In the later years, there might be a strain
For the pain of every relationship, is a strain
And without love, dreams certainly become vain

Say not that a child is to young to be taught!-
Moral values which harlots have not
For a child who steals a pin and go unpunished
Would one day steal pounds to have his shoes polished

That man who robs banks for box of Nairas
Had stolen meats from pots when he was younger
That humble, honest virtuous man
Is a product of discipline from his clan.

To all wonderful moms and dads
Let's beautify our future by training our lads
Omo rere leyinwa ola*
Oun ni omo taafi eko da lola*

*a successful  child in the future
*is a  child that receives moral Discipline.
